Christmas Rising

Christmas Rising

Let’s not get too commercial
Don’t let the corporations control
Doesn’t matter whether Santa
Is clothed in red or green
Let our families come together

The festive feeling rises
As the minutes slowly pass
And the seconds tick away
The hopes within my hidden heart
Grow with spirit each passing day

But spare a thought for families
With unopened gifts under the tree
Their world tragically shattered
Their children taken away
On that earth shattering day

So let us remember the true story
That our children have retold
About the birth of our Saviour
It’s time to rejoice in the Messiah
Christ The Redeemer, born to save us all

      Thank you Jill,
I am always more nervous about posting my poetry than I am posting my inner most secrets, not sure why, but positive comments like this are more than appreciated.
I hope you and Barry have a great Christmas.
