Another good 8 mile walk in the snow this morning, we didn’t get that much snow yesterday or last night, although we expect more later. Yesterday I had a blank canvas within which to walk, before me yesterday for the most part only the odd bicycle and the tiny footprints or foxes and rabbits had gone, for a long part of my walk I made the only human footprints in the snow.
But this morning with no new snow the old cycle track was well walked, cycled and even quad biked, I lead the way yesterday for others to follow, but I’m guessing they didn’t see any of the natural beauty I saw and shared yesterday.
This morning there wasn’t a fantastic sunrise to witness, the sun remained hidden behind a light cloud, but I did get the chance to capture something else as I reach Cotham, some 4 miles out of town and turned to return home. The light of all the street lamps in sleepy Newark lit up the sky with an orange glow.
Beautiful! We rarely get any snow, so when I take my walks i might leave steps in the mud, or none at all. 🙂 Though in the summer the ground becomes dusty and I can mainly see human, coyote, dog and SOMETIMES bear tracks.
Thank you.
It’s snowing again tonight, so in the morning I will walk again with my camera, I will post the pictures in due course.

Hi Elisa
The snow is great, but it can be so cold, we don’t usually get it too bad, but the kids love it when we do.
I would love to visit the U.S. at some point and bet you have some great sights in Southern California, maybe you can share some with us.

don’t know where you live…is it in UK?
I live in Bulgaria and we get heaps of snow here. Russia has had more snow than ever before.
I loved you pics…Newark lights look like a sunrise..so its not far off….you are good at photography..is that your job?
Yes, I live in Newark near Nottingham, just on the edge of Robin Hood Country, I thought the orange glow was a sunrise, but that is looking north back to town, so I realised it was the light of the town, which made it more intriguing.
Photography isn’t my job, I just decided to carry a camera when I started walking in the early hours of the mornings and witnessing some of the great sunrises, to I just snap what I like, I enjoy it.

We have little snow here in Minnesota…which is very rare!! Altho since the climate is changing I guess it’s not too rare. The pictures are wonderful….wow. Thank you!!
Hi Jenny
We have more snow tonight, I may walk into town in the morning and take some pictures of the old castle and church under the snow in the dark, I think they will look great.

The cemetery scenes makes me think of quiet …and reverence. Lovely pictures.
Hi Katie
I walk through the cemetery almost every morning, I have done for years, I used to look for the oldest graves, some of them are close to 200 years old in those pictures, hence they are leaning a bit. I’m glad they came out ok and you enjoyed them.

Snow is so beautiful. It always seems to cheer me up.
Hi Kristin
There is always great excitement in our house when the first signs of snow appear, the kids love it and it reminds me of being young again too.
You’re so right, it does seem to cheer everyone up.
