Sometimes I seem to find doubt easier than faith, time to change all of that and hold on to the belief that the mountains before me will fall into the sea.
I forget that I once wrote this poem, this was at a time I was doubting whether I could go on, these words came to me as I walked, asking God for help, He reminded of all the mountains that I had already overcome!
ONE THING REMAINS by JESUS CULTURE
Higher than the mountains that i face
Stronger than the power of the grave
constant in the trial and the change
One thing remains
Your love never fails
It never gives up
It never runs out on me
Because on and on and on and on it goes
It overwhelmes and satisfies my soul
And i’ll never, ever, have to be afraid
One thing remains
In death
In life
I’m confident and covered by the Power of Your great love
My dept is paid
Theres nothing that can separate
My heart from Your great love
Wayne, I have found, especially in my darker times, that doubt can be easier than faith, that negativity, self-pity, resentment, and unreasonable expectations can be easier than positivity, perseverance, acceptance, and introspection. While, at times, it is a practice to find all of the latter it is worth every moment of effort and having faith, which of course differs from person to person, is essential to recovery. Your transparency with your faith is an inspiration and I always look forward to what you share. Thank you.
I LOVE this song. Singing these words have helped me many times – given me strength to work through many struggles.
May the Lord continue to comfort you and be your strength, Wayne, and scripture give you much encouragement.
