My Feet May Lead Where My Soul Doesn’t Want To Follow

MY FEET MAY LEAD WHERE MY SOUL DOESN’T WANT TO FOLLOW

Do my eyes need to see my feet
To know that they find solid ground
Yet my gaze can fall to catch my steps
For the truth tells that You my Lord
Establish my steps and make straight my paths
Although my feet may lead where my soul doesn’t want to follow
You say I need only set my eyes upon You
To guide my steps straight to Your arms

So very good. My feet will, as human feet are prone to doing, move separately from my soul, as well. It is a gift that He sets them firmly again and again.

We share the metaphor of feet in both our respective blogs. Mine took me down a cliff recently and I ended up in an ambulance. But there was a spiritual explanation – as there always is. A thoughtful and elegant poem. Thank you. Ann
