Broken in the nights
Hiding through the day
As the moments pass
Alone I never found the way
To crawl from beneath the darkness
To find the light of day
To overcome is my gift
Of the Son who overcame the world
By myself I am nothing
Just ashes upon the wind
But now I know my Saviour
These nights quickly pass by
No need to crawl to the sunlight
For in Christ to overcome is my way

And the mountains are higher
Far higher than I feel my hope
How can I win?
What power to overcome?
Am I broken in this moment?
Or is there a way to win?
Then I hear His voice

He tells me to trust in Him
By His triumph I will overcome

I felt them come for me
To take away my freedom
Placing me in the prison of my mind
But they could not win
No, not this time
Because He who is in me is stronger
He who overcome death
Leads me to overcome their words
To rise again like the morning sun
When they surround and I feel empty
And my faith is all I have left
That faith that He within shall overcome
And with faith I fight

I know at times it doesn’t feel like I am overcoming anything, at times like that I just have to remember how much I have already overcome since the Lord found me.
