All That He Was – 2 Corinthians 8:9

All That He Was – 2 Corinthians 8:9

And this is grace
That Once who was all
Stepped down from heaven
To become a man of earth
In this He had nothing
And to the cross He carried
All that He was
Yet in this He died
So we could have more
In His poverty
We would become rich
For now one day we will see
All of the glory
That He has awaiting us in heaven

From Riches (2 Corinthians 8:9)

From Riches (2 Corinthians 8:9)

You left the treasures
That You held with the Father in heaven
Coming to this earth in a virgin birth
You walked our lands
As a child to a man
The purest of men ever seen
Carrying with You no riches
Just the clothes of a carpenter
The truth of Your voice collected the twelve
To speak of the greatness
The Father has in store
Until man hunted You down
To hang You upon the cross
Your blood stained that tree
So this world could be free
Alone there You died
To remove the stain of my sin
In poverty Your sacrifice
To open the treasuries of heaven
For a sinner like me

The Richness

The Richness (2 Corinthians 8:9)

I’m brought down
Time and again
Yet I am risen
Each time by mercy
I’ve lost so much
To stay down
Would be so easy
Yet despite it all
This night I celebrate
The richness of new life
Through the Son’s sacrifice
A gift of beautiful grace

Verse of the Day – 2 Corinthians 8:9

2 Corinthians 8:9

2 Corinthians 8:9

It would be easy to be brought down by everything I have lost in my life over the last few years, but I choose to celebrate the richness of my new life, thanks to Christ’s sacrifice.

COME ON HOME by BRADY TOOPS
Haven’t seen you ‘round here for awhile
I mentioned your name and I saw him smile
Sittin’ on the front porch waiting
Sittin’ on the front porch waiting

Every little one to Him belongs
You might be weak but He is strong
Sittin’ on the front porch waiting
Sittin’ on the front porch waiting
He’s sittin’ on the front porch waiting home

So come on home, come on home
Though you left
He couldn’t forget
Just come on home

Love and pain you’ve known too well
Been backed right down to the gates of hell
Sittin’ on the front porch waiting
He’s sittin’ on the front porch waiting

Mercy’s reach is within your grasp
You’ll find it where, you found it last
Sittin’ on the front porch waiting
Sittin’ on the front porch waiting
He’s sittin’ on the front porch waiting home

Can you feel His eyes
They search for you
Can you hear His cries
They long for you
They long for you
They long for you
They long for you

So come on home
Come on home my brother
Come on home, come on home, my sister
Though you left
He couldn’t forget
Just come on home
