How can we say?
We’re alone
How can we tell the world?
We’re unloved
How can we feel?
All this fear
How can we be?
So downhearted
When we have the Lord here
Ever beside us
When we have His love
For all of eternity
When we have His protection
Wherever we go
When we have His grace
For all our mistakes
So let just thank Him
Thank Him for all His gifts

What I had before
I took and ran
Far away beyond the mountains
To the wastelands
A place of shadows
Yet I longed to return
To turn to home
Empty handed, broken hearted
The long trek wore me down
On my knees I crawled
There upon the horizon
He saw me returning
He ran
He ran to me and carried me in His arms
His gift was life
A gift of redemption and grace
His love beyond my hopes
His hand of healing
My will to live
Now I’m His once more
I am risen and call out in my praise
For His inexpressible gift
