I Must Push On (2 Thessalonians 3:13)

I Must Push On (2 Thessalonians 3:13)

Is this world just here
To slow me down
To halt my progress
To erode my hope

They make it hard
To keep doing what is good
To serve my God
To serve this world

So I must push on
To strive to be the one
That stands firm
And does the works of my God

I Am

I Am (2 Thessalonians 3:13)

Wherever you run
No matter how deep you hide
I will always be there
Because, I Am
I Am He who will set you free
So now run to the world
Let them all see
The good that I’ve placed within you
Show the world they can be free
And when they ask
Just say
Because, I Am

(Part 7 of 7)

NOTE:
I wrote this on Wednesday morning, at the time I was unsure of the last three lines, but I went with them as written and scheduled the post for this evening, as I usually write these in batches and schedule one each day.  This morning at Church, Sam one of our Pastors, spoke about Exodus 3:13-14 and the command from God to Moses to just say “I Am”, in an instant I thought about this poem scheduled for this evening and how I had pondered over it, but right then I seemed to know that it was just fine the way it was, so I post it just as it was written and I thank you Sam for that little bit of inspiration.

2 Thessalonians 3:13

Though sometimes other people make it hard to keep doing what is good, it is something I know I must push on and strive for.

JESUS DIED MY SOUL TO SAVE by POCKET FULL OF ROCKS
Well, I stand amazed at Your love for me
That lonely night in Gethsemane
This sinner’s heart can’t help but thrill
To hear You pray, ‘Father, not my will’

What depth of love, what reach of grace
Oh, how my grateful heart now aches
To sing it louder, the refrain
Jesus died, my soul to save

Atonement full applied to me
The blood that spilled at Calvary
Has swallowed all my sin and shame
I’m reconciled in Jesus’ name

What depth of love, what reach of grace
Oh, how my grateful heart now aches
To sing it louder, the refrain
Jesus died, my soul to save

Oh, such pleasure, oh, such pain
The Father’s wrath and fury laid
On Christ whom saints and angels praise
Jesus died, my soul to save

Come you broken, bound by sin
And let your weary journey end
Come and lay your burdens down
Where mercy rules and peace abounds

What depth of love, what reach of grace
Oh, how my grateful heart now aches
To sing it louder, the refrain
Jesus died, my soul to save
Jesus died, my soul to save

What can wash away my sin
Nothing but the blood
What can make me whole again
Nothing but the blood
