Back Into The Old Routine

Weekly Photo Challenge: Silhouette

For the second day running I managed to get out walking once again.  There was an unforeseen delay in getting out, I’ll explain more about that later.

It was another great walk and yet another great sunrise, although it wasn’t as long a walk as yesterday, it was long enough to work through the reason for my delay.

TAKE HEART by HILLSONG UNITED
There is a light
It burns brighter than the sun
He steals the night
And casts no shadow
There is hope
Should oceans rise and mountains fall
He never fails

So take heart
Let His love lead us through the night
Hold on to hope
And take courage again

In death by love
The fallen world was overcome
He wears the scars of our freedom
In His Name
All our fears are swept away
He never fails

So take heart
Let His love lead us through the night
Hold on to hope
And take courage again

All our troubles
And all our tears
God our hope
He has overcome

All our failure
And all our fear
God our love
He has overcome
All our heartache
And all our pain
God our healer
He has overcome

All our burdens
And all our shame
God our freedom
He has overcome

All our troubles
And all our tears
God our hope
He has overcome

All our failures
And all our fear
God our love
He has overcome

God our justice
God our grace
God our freedom
He has overcome

God our refuge
God our strength
God is with us
He has overcome

Another Hard Walk

I have a couple of day off work at the moment, before preparation for stock check begins, which means a lot of work for me, so I grabbed a few days before the madness begins.

I fought hard this morning with my lethargic self and managed to win, I got up, got ready and got out to see the sun rise and complete a hard 8½ mile walk, in just under two hours, I know I did a similar distance a couple of weeks ago, but not at this pace, it was hard, but enjoyable.

It was a great walk, I actually forgot to take my iPod, it wasn’t until about a third into the walk that I realised I had no music on, but nevertheless, I had some great thinking time and some quality time in prayer.

If the weather is good tomorrow morning, I hope to get out for a shorter walk before work and then on Sunday do another 8½ miles before Church on Sunday, over the next few weeks I hope to build up to the old distances of 13 miles, but we’ll see, the English weather is very unpredictable at the moment, nothing new there then!

Back In The Stride, Well Sort Of!!!

Despite an inner battle when my alarm went off at 5am, I almost gave in, turned it off and went back to sleep, but after a battle of a few minutes, I managed to drag myself out of my pit and get dressed.  Finally for the first time since New Year I got myself out to see the sunrise.

I’m glad I did, I managed to catch the sunrise at the lake, which was a delight to see, then I continued on up the cycle track for a great eight mile walk.

My coordination issues continued, I found that if I turned my head to the left whilst walking, my feet made me drift off to the right, if I looked right, it felt like I was walking on loose rocks, I couldn’t find my footing, if I looked left then right, it was like I was trying to do Riverdance, but very badly.  I actually find it quite funny now, I found myself amused by it all, rather than stressed by it, I think that’s a good sign, my quirky/weird sense of humour seems to have returned, big time.

Although I found it all amusing this morning, I did have a few issues with it all later in the morning, but more on that later.  For now I will share this morning’s sunrise with you all.

IRIDESCENT by LINKIN PARK
When you were standing in the wake of devastation
When you were waiting on the edge of the unknown
And with the cataclysm raining down
Insides crying, “Save me now!”
You were there, impossibly alone

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go

And in a burst of light that blinded every angel
As if the sky had blown the heavens into stars
You felt the gravity of tempered grace
Falling into empty space
No one there to catch you in their arms

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go

Let it go
Let it go
Let it go
Let it go

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go

That Answer Is YOU

THAT ANSWER IS YOU

If I’m alone
And the world’s so far away
And my eyes
Struggle to find another heart
Empty cries
Echo out into the night
There is an answer
That answer is YOU

If I’m searching
For a feeling deep inside
Just a vessel
With no water of life
Salted tears
Fall in the deep of the night
There is an answer
That answer is YOU

If I’ve fallen
Hope scattered with the dust
There I’m reaching
For the loving touch of Grace
Every prayer
Floats out toward the light
There is an answer
That answer is YOU

If I rejoice
As I lay in comfort of faith
When I praise
In midst of all the shadows
And I worship
When the burden’s too much to take
There is an answer
That answer is YOU

Spring Sunrise, Part 2

Weekly Photo Challenge: Spring

I didn’t walk as far as I intended to today, but it was good to be back out for the first time since New Year.  No new aches or pains to report, so far!

Now to get ready to take the kids to see the Muppets movie at the cinema!

INTO THE OCEAN by QUIETDRIVE
I know trust, I know fate, I know lust*
I’ve lived to tell the tales
Many years pass me by, leaving me alone with wasted time

The arrow flies, just as fast as time
As I watch it fly, the sunset fills my eyes, oh

Throw myself back into the ocean, and I’ve lived to tell the tale
Throw myself back into the ocean, but it wouldn’t take me back
No it wouldn’t take me back

I don’t trust, I don’t hate, I don’t lust anymore
Since I was left behind
Consciously I’m awake, I don’t sleep anymore since god erased your life

The arrow flies, just as fast as time
As I watch it fly, the sunset fills my eyes, oh

Throw myself back into the ocean, and I’ve lived to tell the tale
And I’ve lived to tell the tale
Throw myself back into the ocean, but it wouldn’t take me back
No it wouldn’t take me back

My father said you did your best
You tore your soul out of your chest
He said he made the same mistake
My mother wept, she told me son
I’ll let you cry but just this once
Because I made the same mistake

Throw myself back into the ocean, but it wouldn’t take me back
No it wouldn’t take me back

Spring Sunrise, Part 1

Weekly Photo Challenge: Spring

Luckily for me I have this Bank Holiday Monday off work, although I will have to work the next one later this month.  But having not been out for a long walk since New Year, I decided it was time to get back out.

It was a good choice, the early sunrise was definitely worth getting up for.

YOUR LOVE IS A SONG by SWITCHFOOT
I hear you breathing in
another day begins

The stars are falling out
my dreams are fading now, fading out

I’ve been keeping my eyes wide open
I’ve been keeping my eyes wide open

Your love is a symphony
all around me
running through me

Your love is a melody
underneath me
running to me

Your love is a song
the dawn is fire bright
against the city lights

the clouds are glowing now
The moon is blacking out

I’ve been keeping my mind wide open
I’ve been keeping my mind wide open

Your love is a song

With my eyes wide open
I’ve got my eyes wide open
I’ve been keeping my hopes unbroken

So far here in the UK the spring hasn’t been that great, thankfully as we have reached the May Bank Holiday, the spring seems to have finally arrived, which made for a pleasant walk to work this morning.

FIVE CANDLES (YOU WERE THERE) by JARS OF CLAY
A promise or a dare
I would jump if I knew you’d catch me
Staring over the edge
I can’t tell if you’ll be here for me

I close my eyes and make a wish
Turn out the lights and take a breath
Pray that when the wick is burned
You would say that it’s all about love

You were there when I needed you
You were there when the skies broke wide, wide open
You were there when I needed you
You were there when the skies broke wide, wide open

You were never here

I remember you said
Love was more than your good intentions
Empty boxes on the floor
Things I never asked you for
I pray that when the wick is burned
You would say that it’s all about love

You were there when I needed you
You were there when the skies broke wide, wide open
You were there when I needed you
You were there when the skies broke wide, wide open

I can’t see the promise of
Excuses you fall upon
I pray to God not holding on
To things you’ve left undone

You were there when I
You were there when I
You were there when I needed you

Scenes From The Week So Far

Okay, so Monday was a wash out, I got wet walking to work, it took hours for my trousers to dry out and then a matter of minutes after leaving work, it absolutely chucked it down, I was soaked to the skin!

Thankfully, the weather since has been a lot better and the sun has finally began to show it’s face once more.

BRIGHTER DAYS by LEELAND
Time keeps moving on
Through the sunshine and the storm
And my dreams are set in stone
And someday I’ll be who I want to be
For now I’ll wait
For the sun to shine again
And for now I’ll wait
For the rain to pass away

And I’m looking for the brighter days
When all my hurts seem to fade away
I’m looking for the brighter days to come my way

Faces come and faces go
But none seem to look my way
And walls have stood and walls have fallen
But my heart seems to wait
For now I’ll sit at the end of the road
And for now I’ll wait
At the end of the pathway

I’ll see the sun one day shine upon me
I’ll see the sun one day
And watch the nighttime turn to morning
But for now it all comes back around

Sunlight After The Dust Storm

The chances of catching a sunrise this week have been none existent, this supposed dust cloud from the Sahara has meant all week we have woke to an horizon shrouded by mist and fog, there has been virtually nothing to see.

Until this morning that is, for the first morning this week there was a brief sign of the sun, not the greatest of sunrises, but a sunrise nonetheless.

Once again, it’s a great reminder, no matter what storms we have to endure, once it’s over, we’ll see the light once more.

DUST STORM by THE SPILL CANVAS
I’ve been waiting for the wind to change,
I’ve been craving the summer rain,
I wonder when she’s gonna flood the plains.

Will I die before I get old?
Will I be known or unknown?
Can you tell me why all the birds have flown?

I don’t wanna leave a message if there’s nobody home.
I thought I saw you through the window, but I don’t know.

Stinging my eyes, It’s just a dust storm.
Caught outside, It’s just a dust storm.
Weather man lied, It’s just a dust storm.

I’ve been waiting for the moon to rise.
She’s so luminous and wise.
When she flirts with me, I feel shy.

I don’t wanna leave a message if there’s nobody home.
I thought I saw you through the window, but I don’t know.

Stinging my eyes, It’s just a dust storm.
Caught outside, It’s just a dust storm.
Weather man lied, It’s just a dust storm.

Lonely, desolate,
Uninhabited,
In the reaches of no one, nowhere.
Come hear your voice again,
Shifting sediments.

But I don’t know…

Stinging my eyes, It’s just a dust storm.
Caught outside, It’s just a dust storm.
Weather man lied, It’s just a dust storm.

Miles and miles, It’s just a dust storm.
Filling in the sky, It’s just a dust storm.
Let it pass by, It’s just a dust storm.
Ohh….

DRIVE by ED KOWALCZK
Headed out into my desert
all alone and thirsty for something more
than the whiskey that had become my water
Would you mind if I put this on your shoulder?

I need something more

Here I am,
standing inside your love like a child.
Falling asleep at the wheel of my life
and letting you drive.
I’m letting you drive.

Oooh…

Headed out into my dark night,
like a soldier surrounded in the losing fight.
Probability of a victory’s over.
Would you mind if I put this on your shoulder?

I need something more

Here I am,
standing inside your love like a child.
Falling asleep at the wheel of my life
and letting you drive.
I’m letting you drive.

Oooh….

You’re the only one,
You’re the only one who can save me.

I need something more

Here I am,
standing inside your love like a child.
Falling asleep at the wheel of my life
and letting you drive.
I’m letting you drive.

Here I am,
right where I belong.
On the shoulder, hanging off the keys,
close my eyes and letting you drive
I’m letting you drive.
