Forgiven? – Colossians 3:13

Forgiven? – Colossians 3:13

Each forgiven
For a different sin
Though not worthy
And no sentence given
Our sin removed
And our sin forgotten
By a God who loves
Yet still we withhold
Our own forgiveness
For all who sin
Against our own soul
Yet how can we choose
To not forgive
As we are the forgiven
And we shouldn’t forget
We pray
And we praise
Yet we withhold a great gift
That of forgiveness
Yet we still give thanks
For the mercy and grace we receive
This is now our sin
Yet still He forgives
And still He loves

Patient Grace – Colossians 3:13

Patient Grace – Colossians 3:13

Is patience a gift?
Or something we learn
The gift to forgive
Not hardening our hearts
For we’re all forgiven
Of our deepest sin
Within patient grace
From the maker of all
Yet we’re slow to forgive
Loathed to forget
So how do we learn?
That which we receive
That ever patient grace

Forgiven – Colossians 3:13

Forgiven – Colossians 3:13

All have fallen short
And all will fall short
Of the desires of our Lord
In our own we let Him down
Yet His grace is bigger than the oceans
Stretching far beyond His universe
For forever we are forgiven
Our sins recorded no more
Yet to others we hold grievance
We forget what it is to forgive
Even though we are the forgiven
We hold it against our fellow man
So how can we show God’s love
The one that we have received
When we won’t forgive as He forgives
Then what love can we have for fellow man
So let go of that grievance
Forgive and show the love
As the mighty Father has forgiven you
Who shows only love for His beloved child
