Trust me, I've been there, I've looked, I've searched and I know now, that there are no answers to be found in the bottom of a bottle or on the edge of a blade! Fighting Hard, Recovering, Rebuilding, REBORN. Moving on from addiction to a new life.
The perfect truth In all it’s glory For the thief on the cross He found a home He didn’t ask for forgiveness He understood his guilt Yet before his eyes He recognised the innocent Messiah And for the truth he spoke He found the promise To be with the Christ For the rest of eternity For this is the truth of the cross In all it’s glory
It was the message from the cross Where one throw insults Yet the other just said His name This was His only deed Though He was guilty in his sin And the loving Christ accepted him The one that called our His name Despite accepting the punishment of his sin So does it matter what we’ve done All sin is counted the same Just call His name Recognise Him as Lord and saviour Accept Him in your life And there is starts again Reborn with our Lord
There upon the cross Hung between the two There once chose to scorn Our Lord upon that tree Yet the upon the other side There the other saw the truth He saw our Lord upon that tree And asked our Lord to remember him And the Lord of grace upon the cross Made this promise to the thief That He would be together with him In the paradise beyond This is the beauty of the cross That when we call upon His name Our transgressions are forgotten As we are brought close to Him
If I was taken to the cross And hung by Your side Which one would I be? There was a time When I would have been the one To cast my insults Your way Yet there came a Day When the light fell on my life So now if I was on the cross Beside You on that day I would know You were our saviour And though I had failed And hung there for my sin You took to Your cross To save me
Of all the things that Jesus did for us on the cross, this stands out to me the most, it didn’t matter what the criminal had done, his past was forgotten, he simply recognised Jesus for who he truly was, that was enough, his reward… his place in heaven alongside Jesus.
Unfortunately, though I know my past is forgotten, I still let it haunt me from time to time!
MERCY TREE by LACEY STURM On a hill called Calvary Stands an endless mercy tree Every broke and weary soul Find your rest and be made whole
Stripes of blood that stain its frame Shed to wash away our shame From the scars pure love released Salvation brought the mercy tree
In the sky, between two thieves Hung the blameless Prince of Peace Bruised and battered, scarred and scorned Sacred Hands pierced by our thorns
It is finished was his cry The perfect Lamb was crucified The sacrifice, our victory. Our Savior chose the mercy tree
Hope went dark that violent day The whole earth ‘quaked at love’s display Three days silence in the ground This body born for Heaven’s crown
On that bright and glorious day Heaven opened up the grave He’s alive and risen indeed Praise him for the mercy tree
Death has died. Love has won! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Jesus Christ has overcome. He has risen from the dead.
Death has died. Love has won! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Jesus Christ has overcome. He has risen from the dead.
One day soon we’ll see His face And every tear, He’ll wipe a way No more pain or suffering Oh, praise him for the mercy tree
Death has died. Love has won! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Jesus Christ has overcome. He has risen from the dead.
