Verse of the Day – Galatians 6:1

Galatians 6:1

Galatians 6:1

Maybe sometimes we are to quick to judge others, especially when we ourselves are still sinners.

WHEN LOVE SEES YOU (JESUS) by MAC POWELL
Blessed are you as you weep on your knees
With perfume and tears washing over My feet
And blessed are you, beggar, hopeless and blind
Calling for mercy when I’m passing by

Blessed are you, shaking your head
At two tiny fish and some bread
And blessed are you as you tremble and wait
For the first stone thrown at your sinful disgrace

Tell Me your story, show Me your wounds
And I’ll show you what Love sees when Love looks at you
Hand Me the pieces, broken and bruised
And I’ll show you what Love sees when Love sees you

Blessed are you, walking on waves
To find yourself sinking when you look away
Blessed are you, leper, standing alone
The fear on their faces is all that you’ve known

Blessed are you, lonely widow who gave
Your last shiny coin to Yahweh
Blessed are you with your silver and lies
Kissing the One who’s saving your life

Tell Me your story, show Me your wounds
And I’ll show you what Love sees when Love looks at you
Hand Me the pieces, broken and bruised
And I’ll show you what Love sees when Love sees you

I see what I made in your mother’s womb
And I see the day I fell in love with you
I see your tomorrows, nothing left to chance
I see My Father’s fingerprints

I see your story, I see My name
Written on every beautiful page
You see the struggle, you see the shame
I see the reason I came

I came for your story, I came for your wounds
To show you what Love sees when I see you

Yeah, yeah, when I see you
When I see you, oh, whoa, whoa

Verse of the Day – Isaiah 9:6

Isaiah 9:6

Isaiah 9:6

We should all be so thankful that the Father sent His Son to us on this day, that we may be free.

Friend Of Mine?

I have written about Facebook on a number of occasions now, firstly how I would spend hours, just doing nothing on it day in day out, I wasn’t working at the time, I had no work, no money and a growing problem with alcohol.  I would pass the days on Facebook just playing games and generally wasting time.  I wasn’t one for posting much, I wasn’t one for changing my status every five minutes, not one of those who has to post when they were going to the toilet, but as I say I would spend hours just hanging around.

But over the past couple of years I’ve spent less and less time on Facebook, firstly because it reminded me of a period in my life I was desperately trying to escape, then secondly as a few friends who are ardent atheists were posting constant rubbish, so I slowly distanced myself from the site, just checking every now and again for messages etc.

Then a few months ago I came in for some abuse from a former student.  Not outright, but veiled comments that I knew were aimed at me.  I never bothered retaliating, it wasn’t worth it, I wasn’t going to lower myself to that level.  Now I rarely go on at all, but it would also seem that the side swipes have stopped for the time being.

In the couple of years where my life was falling apart at the seams, somehow I managed to keep a grip on my teaching, I stayed sober for teaching, although I would head straight to the pub after ever session.  It seems that being some sort of social working goes hand in hand with being an instructor, in those years I spent far more time, trying to sort out the lives of others, than sorting my own, as mine collapsed behind closed doors, some students still looked to me to sort theirs out.

Unfortunately one of those weren’t that interested really making any significant changes and carried on making the same mistakes and upsetting people around them, I tried to defend them, I tried to help them, but eventually I had to step back a little and sort my life out, I had to step away and take time for myself, I was teaching five times a week, something had to give.

So towards the end of last year, right in the middle of my brush with depression, I came in for some stick on Facebook, with veiled abuse mixed with atheist ramblings, not the best timing, but I let it go.

It’s true at one time they were close friends, but alas no longer, I had new friends who were there for me when I needed them and not just taking all the time.

But I’ve come to a conclusion, they are just jealous.

I have a new best friend and they are so jealous of Him, the only problem for them is they are jealous of someone they don’t actually believe in!

Verse of the Day – Psalm 116:1-4

Psalm 116:1-4

Psalm 116:1-4

These four verses say so much about my journey, it’s hard to believe it’s been almost two years since I called on the name of the Lord.
