Rose Tinted Glasses – Matthew 7:2-5

Rose Tinted Glasses – Matthew 7:2-5

Do we see each other
The way we see ourselves
Looking in the mirror
With rose tinted glasses
I’m okay, I’m fine, I’m fine
As we sneer at the actions
Of the man upon the street
To tear him down
For his ways in life
Yet his ways the same as I
But it’s okay for me
Am I not forgiven anyway
But they should never
It shouldn’t be
Not now, not ever
But it’s okay for me
Maybe I should remove
The plank from my eye
Before I take offence
With the speck in another
Maybe I should destroy
These rose tinted glasses
And take down the mirror
Which make my ways seem okay

In Our Eyes – Matthew 7:2-5

In Our Eyes – Matthew 7:2-5

Still our eyes cloud
To who we are
Complain of others
Yet to ourselves
We still are blind

How can we see?
Beyond the plank
Of our own possession
To see the dust
Of others eyes

Lord help us see
Beyond our clouds
Help us understand
Our own reflections
To find ourselves
Before complaint of others
And find the truth
Hidden in these souls

Judges – Matthew 7:2-5

Judges – Matthew 7:2-5

Do you see the scars?
Of all the pain they hold
Do you know their calling?
Or why they act this way?
For ours is not to judge
But to tell them of God’s love
Only One will judge our souls
On the day we all stand before Him
So before we judge their scars
Maybe we should look to our own
For we all have scars to be seen
Though some we hide deep from sight
So let’s not judge the souls of others
Just tell them of God’s amazing love
