Weekly Photo Challenge: From Lines To Patterns

Two weeks ago I chanced across a spiders web whilst on a long walk, through which I was able to capture the sunrise behind it.  Along the same route this morning, although there wasn’t the clear sunrise, just blankets of mists, but the moist morning air highlighted every spiders web along the way.

This made for some great images, with the morning dew hanging off the intricate patterns of the webs, with the misty sunrise behind.

TAPESTRY by HILLSONG UNITED
Maker of earth and sky
And everything before our eyes
Your word formed life and light
Within the crucible of time
The genesis of all mankind

Our lives a tapestry of grace
Your hand has weaved together
In You no thread will ever fray
This hope is ours forever

Your work of art a mystery
Beyond all earthly measure
Your love for us a masterpiece
Jesus our hope always

Author of grace divine
Love orchestrated in our lives
The cross of Calvary
The gift of God the centrepiece
Upon that cross You set us free

Our lives a tapestry of grace
Your hand has weaved together
In You no thread will ever fray
This hope is ours forever

Your work of art a mystery
Beyond all earthly measure
Your love for us a masterpiece
Jesus our hope always

Lift our eyes towards the Son
Glorious You stand alone
Raised to life You’ve overcome
Holy is the Lord our God

Your love is unrivalled
Your glory spans eternity
Your word is final
The cross of Christ our victory
Every knee will bow at the Name of Jesus
For there is no name like the Name of Jesus

Morning Mist

I have a number of days holiday left which need using up before the end of the year, so with a few appointments to make this week, I booked the whole week off from work.  So this morning I woke to clear skies, although it was still dark, at 5.30am I ventured out for a long walk, everything looked good for a great sunrise and the timing should see me reach the lake in time for the sun to rise over it.

Well, that was the plan, but as the darkness subsided, the Newark Mist replaced it, masking the sun and it’s rise.  When I got to the lake there was no sign of the sun beyond the thick mists, the first photo was taken at 6.49am, just the lake shrouded in mist.  I continued along the cycle track for a number of miles, until the mist started to clear and the sun and the moon were both visible in the blue skies beyond the mists.  But as I turned back to come home, it wasn’t long before I walked back into the same mists I had just left, it was Newark just hidden under clouds of mists, again.  A few miles out of town it was quite clear, but Newark, it just seems to hold on to the mist, all day sometimes. Oh well, I’ll just have to try again tomorrow.

PUSHING BACK THE DARK by JOSH WILSON
One million reasons why, you shouldn’t even try.
After all you’re just one heart, a single candle in the dark.
And there are shadows here, feeding on your fears,
That you don’t have what it takes – who are you to make a change?

But oh, oh, don’t underestimate the God you follow.

Whatever you do, just don’t look back.
Oh somebody needs the light you have.
Whatever you do, just don’t lose heart.
Keep on pushing back the dark,
Keep on pushing back the dark.

The city on a hill, it should be shining still.
Every sinner saved by grace, has a purpose, has a place
Inside the bigger plan, we might not understand.
But if we just keep walking on, we will see the Kingdom come, yeah.

Whatever you do, just don’t look back.
Oh somebody needs the light you have.
Whatever you do, just don’t lose heart.
Keep on pushing back the dark,
Keep on pushing back the dark.

(Let your lights all shine…)
Oh, oh, don’t underestimate the God you follow.
He is the light that burns inside your soul,
So keep on shining ’til the whole world knows.

Whatever you do, just don’t look back.
Oh somebody needs the light you have.
Whatever you do, just don’t lose heart.
Keep on pushing back the dark,
Just keep on pushing back the dark, dark.

Whatever you do, just don’t look back.
Cause somebody needs the light you have.
Whatever you do, just don’t lose heart.
Keep on pushing back the dark,
Keep on pushing back the dark, yeah

(Let your lights all shine)
When you feel like you’re too small
(Let your lights all shine)
To do any good at all
(Let your lights all shine)
Like a sunrise through the window
(Let your lights all shine)
Like a symphony crescendo
(Let your lights all shine)
We are waking up again, we are rising from the dead
(Let your lights all shine)
We are shining like the stars, we are pushing back the dark
(Let your lights all shine)
Yeah, we are pushing back, pushing back the dark
(Let your lights all shine)
We are pushing back, we are pushing back, pushing back the dark
(Let your lights all shine)
Just pushing back, we are pushing back, pushing back the dark
(Let your lights all shine)

Up, Another Great Sunrise

Weekly Photo Challenge – Up

A bit of strange start to the morning, despite the warm weather this week there was a deep frost this morning, but the day moved on to probably the best day of the year so far, so good I even brought the shorts today and gave the little legs a bit of air, sadly I have no pictures of those to dare, not a great sight to be honest, so just the morning sunrise to share.

Look beyond the old you
Everything you held to
Oh, you don’t need it anymore
Welcome to daylight
Open your eyes
When the light breaks out like a midnight sun
Blazing right in front of you
Life is here and now and it’s just begun
Your destiny is breaking through
Welcome to daylight

Brighter Moments Of An Overcast Week

There honestly wasn’t that much to see over the last week or maybe I was just so caught up in my own sorry head, I wasn’t really looking, my creativity has definitely suffered this last week, it’s been stifled to say the least.

There were some attempts by the sun to break through the cloudy skies and a fog so thick it froze and came down as if it was snow.
