Patience – 2 Peter 3:9

Patience – 2 Peter 3:9

Stay patient
In the promise
Wait on our God
Hit timing is perfect
Our patience is flawed
His promise eternal
Delivered at the precise time
So wait for the moment
Stay patient
Until such time

Patience – Psalm 31:14-15

Patience – Psalm 31:14-15

I have put myself in suffering
As I worried over my way
And how the future would fall
In line with all my dreams
I worried and I worried
Yet still I prayed for it all
Patience isn’t my favour
Not willing to wait
And the pressure of wanting
Beat down upon my soul
But now I have found
That it is the trusting in You
That leads to my heart’s peace
My times are in Your hands
The plans for my life
All by Your design
So now I hear Your voice
And here and now
I place my trust in Your words

Patience – Proverbs 16:32

Patience – Proverbs 16:32

Joshua, the man of God
Took the cities the Father led him to
Waited with great patience
Before he collected what God had promised
But me, where is this patience?
I want the spoils of the city now
Under selfish dreams of more
Rather than what God promises
Can I walk the walls daily?
Will I wait for the trumpets call?
Or will I continue to break into
The places I need not go?
Oh Lord, grow in me great patience
Just like Joshua of old

Romans 8:24-25

Romans 8:24-25

Some times my hopes, dreams and prayers seem to be so far away, yet I trust still in God, His promises and indeed His timing.

WALK WITH ME by JESUS CULTURE

How I need You, how I need You
Oh Jesus, walk with me

Patience, That’s All It Needed

My last official day off work today, so I was out the house at 6.30am, intending to walk to the lake and then beyond, the skies looked good, I felt good, so off I set.

I arrived at the lake shortly before the sun was due to rise, so I sat at the lakeside to take in the sunrise before moving on down the cycle track.  But although the signs looked good, it really wasn’t a spectacular start, I sat there waiting, slowly becoming eager to walk on.

About To Depart

About To Depart

So as nothing seemed to really be happening, I decided to walk on away.  That meant walking through a sheltered area where it would be sometime until the full skies and the best of the sun rise would be visible.  But just as I decided to get up and move on, I suddenly had a feeling I was being tested, just like I was being told, “if you wait it will be spectacular, trust me”!

So I stayed seated and waited a bit longer, within five minutes everything changed and quickly, it just took a little patience and belief.

I’m so glad I stayed in there and waited, it was a message I needed.  There have been so many things in the last eighteen months that I’ve overcome and quickly, that it’s easy to look at everything and think it should all fall into place one after the other and in quick succession.  But there are still things to be resolved and two of these in particular I can get very down about, but this morning I was reminded to stick in there, keep believing, even though it may look bleak now.

“Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.” Ecclesiastes 7:8

BRIGHTER DAYS by LEELAND
Time keeps moving on
Through the sunshine and the storm
And my dreams are set in stone
And someday I’ll be who I want to be
For now I’ll wait
For the sun to shine again
And for now I’ll wait
For the rain to pass away

And I’m looking for the brighter days
When all my hurts seem to fade away
I’m looking for the brighter days to come my way

Faces come and faces go
But none seem to look my way
And walls have stood and walls have fallen
But my heart seems to wait
For now I’ll sit at the end of the road
And for now I’ll wait
At the end of the pathway

I’ll see the sun one day shine upon me
I’ll see the sun one day
And watch the nighttime turn to morning
But for now it all comes back around
