Anxious – Philippians 4:6-8

Anxious – Philippians 4:6-8

Tasted the anxious
Held to the panic
Let it gather
And grip
I let it guide the heart
Helpless to fight against
I tried to climb above it
Put myself before it’s worth
But it seems to hold
Ever tighter
Just not letting go
I leave it so late to pray
But why?
As He always hears me
Always answers my cry
That’s when the grip slips away
It’s hold broken for now
And in His arms I fall
Free to enjoy His favour
Safe within His love

Of Anxious Heart – Philippians 4:6-8

Of Anxious Heart – Philippians 4:6-8

Of anxious heart
No need to worry
Submit in prayer
The feelings of the heart
With a spirit of thanksgiving
To the wonder of the Lord
And consider all
That is true
And just
And honourable
Embrace what is pure
Lovely and commendable
And all worthy of your praise
And then just feel
The anxious fall away

Walls (Philippians 4:6-8)

Walls (Philippians 4:6-8)

Crisis will come
Once in a while
We’ll face the walls
We just can’t break down
Anxiety before us
A barrier to our senses
Tears upon our sleeves
Wiped from the emptiness of our eyes
Our hope erodes
As we build our walls ever high
Where do we look
Who’s eyes do we seek
In this instant of fear
Where do we place our hope

Then in that moment
A voice so peaceful reminds us
Where we should be
What we should do

So here we are
We fall to our knees
Our eyes close
As tears continue to fall
There we call His name
The name above all others
Our prayers form in our mind
Breaking fear it reaches our lips
Like sparks from our tongue
Our fear rises to heaven
He answers our call
Before us our wall will fall
Dust will rise and settle
Tears of fear turn to joy
At the touch of the Lord

There we rise once more
High above the world
No walls stand before
We become so free
Released by our Lord
No anxiety will hold us
No fears control our soul

So fall upon Your knees
All those before the wall
Call upon His name
And watch your walls fall

Ready To Fall

Ready To Fall (Philippians 4:6-8)

In trouble we swim
Fighting the tides
Gasping for air
And inside we burn
How hard we try
We push, we push
We’re ready to sink
Blue skies seem so distant

Busy we run
Lives full of duty
We turn from it all
Only to face a new challenge
Endlessly it goes on
We try, we try
We’re ready to fall
Green fields a forgotten memory

Now fall to one knee
And call out His name
Sing out a prayer
Lift it all to the Father
All burdens upon our souls
We cry, we cry
Lord take it all
Until the pain is out of reach

Show Him our hearts
Whisper our hopes
Hand it all over
And sink into His peace
His love will redeem us
We are free, we are free
And sing Him our praise
As Heaven comes so near

Verse of the Day – Phillipians 4:6-8

Philippians 4:6-8

Philippians 4:6-8

After a stressful evening and indeed last few days, I am really trying to hang on to verse this tonight.

BEND by BRANDON HEATH
I am not my family tree
These are different leaves, you know
There are miles and miles between
My roots and what I’m trying to grow

I am not the slave they sold
Nor am I royalty
I’ve worn them both, the finest coat
And rags that barely cover me

But there’s mercy in the soil, mercy in the sun
Learning to forgive, what cannot be undone
And what was meant to harm can’t harm you in the end
Stepped out on a limb I thought might break
But Love said, it will only bend; It will only bend.

I am not my past mistakes
Labelled by some place and time
Nor am I trophy case
Trying to maintain my shine

I have dreamed a thousand dreams
Watched a grain in famine, grow
I am not my family tree
I have branches of my own

But there’s mercy in the soil, mercy in the sun
Learning to forgive, what cannot be undone
And what was meant to harm can’t harm you in the end
Stepped out on a limb I thought might break
But Love said, it will only bend; It will only bend.

Oh, does fate resign us to
Find shelter for our wounds
Beneath the battered roof of broken dreams?
Oh, but I will choose to stand
In the shadow of Your hand
And see what grows when Grace has sown the seed
