Ruins In The Sand – 2 Kings 22:4-7

Ruins In The Sand – 2 Kings 22:4-7

There’s broken walls all around
Where ruins lay
That once stood proud
Mighty stones
Once of a temple
That held the love of God
Was that you?
Are you scattered?
In pieces destroyed
Lost beneath the sands
Sands time that pass you by
Once so strong
Now just destroyed
Where did it all go wrong?
How did it come to this?
Scattered walls
Of a fallen heart
Who once believed
All could be rebuilt
All could be remade
By the hand of the Maker
The master potter
Who breathes life
Into dust and bone
He who formed the stones
Of your shattered temple
The heart and soul
That once held Him so
I stand with you
Amongst these ruins
With my hands
I will start to gather
These stones together
One by one
Stone by stone
My God with me
Our God with us
The temple will stand once again
Tall and proud
Beneath the sun and stars
The temple of a heart
So full of God
For out faithful Lord
He who made the world
Will see this rise
From shifting sands
To stand again
Before the world

Rebuilding The Ruins

Rebuilding The Ruins

I have been hiding
Here among the broken ruins
That were created by my lies
Just waiting for a magic wand
To rebuild everything I’ve broken
I was left lying on the floor in the dust
Where my tears left a stain

But now I’ve awoken
By the mighty hand of God
My eyes have been opened wide
That I no longer see these ruins
Block by block, stone by stone
I’m rebuilding this city of mine
By the strength of grace and love
I can rebuild this to be new

The dust has gone
These floors of bright stone
Shine within the light of His glory
The Son is here by my side
Now I truly know that He never left
This part of His kingdom is rising high
With His strength I place these stones
To rebuild a life that once was broken
Yet by Grace has been made alive

Castle Of Ruins

Castle Of Ruins

Like the skeleton of a castle
From days long since past
Some things forever remain in ruins
But in my eyes I can see
The castle rebuilt in front of me
Every stone is lifted upon the wind
And put in place by the Maker’s hand
As the walls reach up towards heaven
So am I destined to remain in ruin
Or will I submit myself to the Maker’s hand
To put back together all I have destroyed
And before my eyes will life become new
And reach up high unto the heavens
Where you’ll hear my voice shouting with joy
In wonderful praise before the feet of my Lord
Where I’m destined to be forevermore
Not left between the ruins of these walls

Hearts

Hearts (Psalm 51:10)

Are our hearts all destined to rust
To just rot and decay inside ourselves
With each beat do the walls erode
Soon to turn from flesh to dust

For those who gave their heart away
Is there forevermore an empty space inside
Or will it be returned in a thousand tiny pieces
The pain of which beats us down each day

Yet You my Lord are the one whom we call
The only one who can bind up the broken
The only one who can rebuild from the ruins
You my Lord will catch all those who fall

So my Lord I pray for a heart remade
One so pure as it beats for you
With a steadfast spirit inside of me
A heart of flesh that will never fade
