Torn Scars – 1 Peter 2:24

Torn Scars – 1 Peter 2:24

These scar may bleed again
I’ve torn apart
That which was healed
Now I’m searching for the cross again
To find the One who took it all
He who bled for me
For all my sins
To heal these scars of mine
For now I’ve open the wounds
That need healing once again

Shine Beyond The Shame

Shine Beyond The Shame

Some scars don’t show all the pain
Most scars won’t show the struggle
Scars can be hidden
Or left to shine
Scars can hold shame
Or show our courage
Scars be so much to so many
But every scar has a story
Every scar reveals a challenge
From scars upon flesh
To those kept deep inside
We all have scars
And so many we hide
Don’t judge a scar
Another holds
Of visible or hidden
Don’t cast your doubt
Stand with them
Encourage them
Let their scars begin to shine
Their challenge
Their courage
Let it all be praised
And let them know
Most of all
The Father knows their pain
Felt the challenge of each scar
And He stands with them
Even though they not know
In every hour
Of every day
He knows the scars
Each of us carry
Each a story
Each a chapter
Of the life we have carried
And if we turn to Him
Take the refuge
Beneath His mighty wings
Our scars will shine
Far beyond our shame

Our Scars May Shine – Isaiah 54:4

Our Scars May Shine – Isaiah 54:4

Though our scars
May still shine
From the pain
We once suffered
They are not the stains
Of all the faults
We have created
The mistakes
We have made
Of the scars
No shame
Gone the stain
Erased the disgrace
We are new
Made new by the blood
The blood of the One
The holy Son

Judges – Matthew 7:2-5

Judges – Matthew 7:2-5

Do you see the scars?
Of all the pain they hold
Do you know their calling?
Or why they act this way?
For ours is not to judge
But to tell them of God’s love
Only One will judge our souls
On the day we all stand before Him
So before we judge their scars
Maybe we should look to our own
For we all have scars to be seen
Though some we hide deep from sight
So let’s not judge the souls of others
Just tell them of God’s amazing love

Shining Scars

Shining Scars

Are you hiding your face
Trying to mask the pain
Of all that you have been
Looking to the flesh
Where your scars still hang
There upon the skin
An unfading reminder
Of all the mistakes
Rugged memories
Of darker times
With all of the pain
And each tear that fell
When life was full of hurt
And the darkness
The scars try to hide

But this will all end
Will fall away tonight
The One whom was scarred
Body, hands and feet
Will make them shine
Illuminated by the love of Christ
Shining from deep within
For somewhere tonight
There will be a soul
Trying to find reason
In the scars they try to hide
So let yours shine
To give them hope right now
Where they’ll see the love of Christ
No scar could ever hide

Let My Scars Shine

Let My Scars Shine

Here are my scars
Those stripes from their sword
The wounds of arrows from their bow
Scars of my own doing
The cut of my own words
They mark the skin
Upon the soul they show
But here they are my Lord
I won’t let them become dark
I won’t allow them to be invisible
Let them shine for the world to see
I will let them stand proud
Because though I caused them all
You my Lord brought healing to my soul
Mercy’s kindness, grace’s power
Has tended to my wounds
And I’m made whole by Your love
A love beyond their words
A love greater than my fears
So let my scars shine with the glory of Your love
Let them see there’s healing in Your word
For healing comes when we call Your name
