A day is gonna come
When the sun will set on me
So as I, who came from the darkness
The darkness of the north
Finding a sun rise from the east
That beauty as a walked
Into the light of day
And the warmth of the southern sun
Each step I’ve walk with God
I hope and pray I’ve kept His ways
And when the time comes
To see my sun set in the west
I’ll know my God is with me
And I’ll be finally going home

Book Ends To A Weekend

Over the last few weeks I have persevered with getting up early and just walking, I try to get out most mornings for an 8 mile walk before work and then take longer walks over the weekend, usually 12 to 15 miles, on a Sunday evening I also try to get an extra walk in too.

This week end I got out early Saturday, catching the sunrise at the lake and yesterday evening I manage to catch the sunset, perfect book ends to a great weekend.

On Saturday morning I heard this song on my iPod, it came on just as I walked past the spot where I got the call four years ago to tell me my Nan had died, I thought of my friend Mark who last weekend lost His Nan too.

ANGELS FLY by REAMONN
She saw the world through her smile
She held your hand you knew it’d be all right
She spoke of places she’d never been
“Now is the time”, she’d say, “to live the dream”

And she told us how she could fly
And she said “no need for goodbyes”
For we’d see her there in the skies
Where angels fly, angels fly

She stayed a while that summers day
Spoke through a smile of how she’d go away
I saw in her eyes, her pain
She took my hand and said “it’d be ok”

And now she’s soaring up into the sky
And she takes us all in her flight
And she told us the reasons why
Angels fly, angels fly

Some summer days I can see the smile
And in so many ways she’s still alive
And the love that she gave I keep down inside
I’m keeping it safe ’till I learn to fly

And she’s soaring up into the sky
And she takes us all in her flight
And I feel she’s still alive
Where angels fly, angels fly

And she told us how she could fly
And she said “no need for goodbyes”
For we’d see her there in the sky
Where angels fly, angels fly
Angels fly, my sweet angel flies.

Verse of the Day – Psalm 65:8

Psalm 65:8

Psalm 65:8

I’m thankful once more for the strength I have received to get through this current trial, strength that allowed me to see the sunset this evening.

MY GOD by LUMINATE
Are you lost, my runaway?
All is spent, squandered away
You’ve had your taste; you’ve had your fill
It’s not enough; you’re wanting still
He said, My son, if you come home
I’ll wrap you in My finest robes
And we will dance until the dawn
No greater love; you are My son

My God, my God
What mercy You have shown to me
My God, my God
Forever I will sing to Thee

Do you feel broke beyond repair?
The crushing weight is too much to bear
And with no hope for innocence
Who will stand in your defense?

But One has come, to claim His own
To fight for you, oh, weary soul
The world you fear, a threat no more
For Earth will hear the victor’s roar
This song will rise, from shore to shore
We are free; we’re bound no more
And we will dance, and all will know
For it’s the coming of my Lord

This song will rise, from shore to shore
We are free, where bound no more

So it’s day 2 without the anti-depressants and once again so far, so good.  I had a couple of minor headaches earlier in the day, but nothing too bad.  As I walked home I had a couple of “dizzy spells”, mainly if I turned my head quickly or stepped heavily, but once again, nothing I couldn’t cope with.

I had a walk up to the Sports Centre and popped into the karate class, my assistant was covering this evening, I had a chat with a few people and decided to walk home.

On the way back I thought about taking a walk up the cycle track and taking in the sunset, but then seemed to talk myself out of it.  But the closer I got to home, the more I found the resolve to force myself to take that walk, I’ve been putting it off all year, making excuses not to get out and walk, to catch a sunset or sunrise, so I decided to take the walk, I’m glad I did, the sunset was great to see.

I’m glad I found the strength to stop taking the easy option and take a walk this evening, now I hope I can do the same in the morning, get back into my old routine and find the time to walk and find some peace.

PURSUIT by JESUS CULTURE
Strip everything away till all I have is You
Undo the veils till all I see is You

Strip everything away till all I have is You
Undo the veils till all I see is You

I will pursue You, I will pursue Your presence
I will pursue You, I will pursue Your presence

I’m pressing in to You so do not pass me by
I’m breaking through the boundaries
I will not be denied

I will pursue You, I will pursue Your presence
I will pursue You, I will pursue Your presence

Open my eyes, search me inside
I cant live without Your presence
I can’t live without Your presence

Reflections Of A Monday Morning

Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflections

Despite the thin layer of frost that covered the ground this morning, the sun was shining brightly, the view of sun on the frosty lake were once again worth taking a few minutes out of my day to see.

DRIVE by ED KOWALCZK
Headed out into my desert
all alone and thirsty for something more
than the whiskey that had become my water
Would you mind if I put this on your shoulder?

I need something more

Here I am,
standing inside your love like a child.
Falling asleep at the wheel of my life
and letting you drive.
I’m letting you drive.

Oooh…

Headed out into my dark night,
like a soldier surrounded in the losing fight.
Probability of a victory’s over.
Would you mind if I put this on your shoulder?

I need something more

Here I am,
standing inside your love like a child.
Falling asleep at the wheel of my life
and letting you drive.
I’m letting you drive.

Oooh….

You’re the only one,
You’re the only one who can save me.

I need something more

Here I am,
standing inside your love like a child.
Falling asleep at the wheel of my life
and letting you drive.
I’m letting you drive.

Here I am,
right where I belong.
On the shoulder, hanging off the keys,
close my eyes and letting you drive
I’m letting you drive.

Monday Sun

After the fairly heavy rain over night, the dark clouds slowly passed on by and the sun seemed to shine for most of the day, it would seem we are moving out of winter and into spring, the only disappointing thing is that we only had about one hours worth of snow this winter and none of it settled, oh well, maybe next year!

BEAUTIFUL WORLD by CAROLINA LIAR
Here it comes in the morning
I’m just trying to forget
Keep it real, keep it simple
And somehow just get out of bed
And this city is endless
I’m as cold as it’s stone
Yeah this city is endless
And I’m, I’m walking alone

Sunlight creeps in between the curtains
Lose the sheets there’s no time for sleep
I lie, I pretend ‘til I’m almost certain
It’s a beautiful world

I wanna ask for direction
But I don’t dare to disturb
I got a thing with affections
Yeah, that’s why I’m walking alone

Sunlight creeps in between the curtains
Lose the sheets there’s no time for sleep
I lie, I pretend ‘til I’m almost certain
It’s a beautiful world

Here it comes in the morning…

Sunlight creeps in between the curtains
Lose the sheets there’s no time for sleep
I lie, I pretend ‘til I’m almost certain
It’s a beautiful world
(Yeah, it’s a beautiful world)
la la la la
I pretend ‘til I’m almost certain
It’s a beautiful world

The Sun May Set, But It Always Rises Again!

Yesterday evening I managed to catch the sunset as I left work, it was a busy day as usual, but a good end to a good day.

Fading Eye

Fading Eye

The evening seemed to be going fine, until the consequences of my past caught up with me again, at that point my spirit dropped considerably.

Then as I prepared my post “Verse of the Day – Jeremiah 29:12-12”, I came to my senses, regardless of what is happening to me now, I am not that person, when I typed the words “God listened and answered me, 99 weeks sober this evening”, the downsides of my past faded away and the feeling of joy and thankfulness returned.

So this morning I witnessed the sunrise again, it was a timely reminder:

The sun may set, but it always rises again!

GET UP by CIRCLESLIDE
What if I told you I wasn’t ready for this life
What if I told you this wasn’t what I had in mind
What if this mountain’s just too high

Get up get up
brush off the dust from your soul
Get up get up
the past is beyond your control
Get up get up
don’t ever give up on love

What if I told you my whole world broke down last night
What if showed you my surprising ugly side
What if I’ve fallen out of line

What if I told you there was time when I believed
What if I told you I’m exploding with doubt I’m infected with weakness
I’m breaking the silence crying out, crying out

Get up get up
brush off the dust from your soul
Get up get up
the past is beyond your control
Get up get up
don’t ever give up on love
