Spring Sunrise, Part 2

Weekly Photo Challenge: Spring

I didn’t walk as far as I intended to today, but it was good to be back out for the first time since New Year.  No new aches or pains to report, so far!

Now to get ready to take the kids to see the Muppets movie at the cinema!

INTO THE OCEAN by QUIETDRIVE
I know trust, I know fate, I know lust*
I’ve lived to tell the tales
Many years pass me by, leaving me alone with wasted time

The arrow flies, just as fast as time
As I watch it fly, the sunset fills my eyes, oh

Throw myself back into the ocean, and I’ve lived to tell the tale
Throw myself back into the ocean, but it wouldn’t take me back
No it wouldn’t take me back

I don’t trust, I don’t hate, I don’t lust anymore
Since I was left behind
Consciously I’m awake, I don’t sleep anymore since god erased your life

The arrow flies, just as fast as time
As I watch it fly, the sunset fills my eyes, oh

Throw myself back into the ocean, and I’ve lived to tell the tale
And I’ve lived to tell the tale
Throw myself back into the ocean, but it wouldn’t take me back
No it wouldn’t take me back

My father said you did your best
You tore your soul out of your chest
He said he made the same mistake
My mother wept, she told me son
I’ll let you cry but just this once
Because I made the same mistake

Throw myself back into the ocean, but it wouldn’t take me back
No it wouldn’t take me back

Traveler’s Song

Saturday night/Sunday morning I couldn’t sleep, I got about 3 hours sleep overall, so I skipped walking that morning.  I took a steady walk to Church, on the way as I passed the Railway pond, I came across this guy/girl, how do you tell the sex of a swan? I sure someone will tell me, but regardless, it was I wonderful sight, that I actually stopped to capture, not a quick snap and the rush onwards.

As I posted I didn’t walk yesterday at all, apart from a walk later to our Connect Group meeting, other than that there was no hammering of the pavement or cycle track, I had no energy to do any of that.

Today, the sun is out again and I don’t feel like just staying in, so I’m going to take a walk, but with a difference, I’m not going to pound the pavement, I’m not going to walk as fast as I can for as long as I can!

For once, I’m going to try at least to take a steady walk, taking in all that’s around me.  I’m not going to set my pedometer, or check my pace or try to work up a good sweat, I’m going to walk, just walk.

I’m going to put my headphones on, listen to some inspiring music, take in the beauty of my surroundings and walk with God.  I going to throw any issues that are troubling me His way.

I’ll take my camera and as usual share anything I find to photograph with you later.

If you travel here, you will feel it all
The brightest and the darkest
If you travel here, listen to your heart
And take with you what lasts forever

Feeding Time

My new friends at the lake were a little distant today, firstly as I walked by on the way to work they were over the other side of the lake but heading in the other direction, which was a shame I had brought them breakfast, so I thought I save it for dinner, as I finished work at midday I would stop by on the way home.

But it would seem that during the morning, a new pair of swans had arrived at the lake and territory war was taking in place.  Initially all four swans moved toward me as I started throwing the bread out to the birds that were gathering, but then the two new swans, or rather one of the new swans, chased the others away, interesting to say the least.

Scenes From More Morning Walks

I’ve had a couple of days off from work this week, yesterday I had a few things to sort out in the morning, then some chill time in the afternoon, I had originally booked just Thursday off but I was given the option to take Friday as well, so I did.

Yesterday started with a good walk, it was cold and overcast, there was no fantastic sunrise, but no fog or mist either, but I did have some unexpected guests as I sat at station 20 by the side of the lake, taking in the sun’s slow rise behind the clouds.

Pure Curiosity

Pure Curiosity

They gracefully drifted about in the water before me for five to ten minutes, they made me feel a little selfish as they were circling, as they do waiting for the visitor to their home to throw them some bread, but I didn’t have anything, I thought about going to the shop just around the corner, but I don’t carry any money or even my wallet when I’m walking in the morning, needless to say they kept drifting by looking inquisitively and hopeful until they eventually came to the conclusion I had nothing to give them and moved on, but I enjoyed their company, even if just for a few short minutes.

The sun did try to break through the breaks in the cloud, to make for some interesting images, but after around 45 minutes and with some very cold hands, I headed home.

Today I took the same walk and the inquisitive couple came to visit again, they must have
remembered me, because this time they only stayed about a minute, realised once again I hadn’t brought them breakfast and moved on.

Sunrise Over Blue Lake

This morning I remembered that I actually still had my camera in my pocket, so as I made my return home from my 13 mile walk, I took a few photos of the sunrise over Blue Lake, a small lake on the side of the cycle track, just thought I would share them.
