Verse of the Day – Romans 10:9

Romans 10:9

Romans 10:9

To know this is the truth, this is what love’s ultimate sacrifice did for us all, that those who call upon His name and believe, will be saved.

THE SAVING ONE by STARFIELD
What mercy was revealed
What selflessness and peace
My fate was surely sealed
Until He rescued me
His pardon for my sin
His bounty for my need
From slavery and shame
I am redeemed

And Heaven can’t contain
The glory of the Son
Jesus is the Christ, the saving One
His love has made a way
The grave is overcome
Jesus is the Christ, the saving One

No fear can hold me down
Nor darkness steal my joy
For blood has been poured out
The enemy destroyed
Death could not hold Him down
The cross was not enough
To steal away His throne
For He is God

And Heaven can’t contain
The glory of the Son
Jesus is the Christ, the saving One
His love has made a way
The grave is overcome
Jesus is the Christ, the saving One

Anyone who calls upon His name
They will be saved
They will be saved
Anyone who calls upon His name
They will be saved
They will be saved

And Heaven can’t contain
The glory of the Son
Jesus is the Christ, the saving One

Isaiah 51:6

Isaiah 51:6

We have this amazing promise of the Lord’s, though all around us will perish, we have the glory of the sacrifice and resurrection, the salvation we receive from Jesus Christ will last forever.

…500!!! – 500 Days of Sobriety and Freedom

Needless to say, I didn’t sleep much last night at all, when midnight came around all I wanted to do was shout out loud and dance to celebrate, but given that everyone else in the house was asleep, I had to celebrate on my own in quiet.

So I went to my quiet place in the house and prayed, probably the most emotional prayer I have made and this time not through despair, but through an amazing sense of freedom and sincere thanks and praise.

“He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud & mire;
he set my feet on a rock & gave me a firm place to stand.”
Psalms 40.2

If I’m honest I got less than four hours sleep, but right now I don’t feel tired at all…

I FEEL SO ALIVE!!!!

It’s still hard to believe the enormous change in me, I guess only I really know, well I and my creator, many friends and family really didn’t see the worst of me, I kept that private, Victoria may have seen it, but in all honesty we both kept it quiet, but only I know the change inside, there is external change, yes definitely, but the change inside is the key to all of this.

To accept a completely different belief, to take a path into the unknown and more importantly, accept Jesus within me, that is the change and it’s just amazing.

So it’s time to get ready for my morning at Church, it’s live streaming to the internet on ECTV and to Wellingborough today, so lots to do, but regardless it’s going to be an amazing morning and a fantastic day.

So many songs I could use for this post, but I’ve decided to go with this one, it says it all!

36, 252 & 38

Ok, so here in the Uk it’s about to move over to 6th December, so by the time I actually post this I will be another year older.

It’s a day for celebration, definitely, but my birthday is the least of the reasons why!

Ok, so why?

Firstly, back in March between the point of my breakdown on 13th March and my sobriety on 29th March, there were times then that I didn’t actually want to make it, I was ready to fall of the planet, leave this life for good, but I didn’t, I couldn’t, I wasn’t allowed!

In the early months of my recovery I was scared to death of the damage I had done to myself, I thought I was a heart attack waiting to happen, I was sure I was heading for one but, I didn’t, I wasn’t allowed!

Why didn’t I, why couldn’t I and why wasn’t I allowed?

Because I was saved, God had a plan for my life and it wasn’t death, not yet anyway!

On the 21st March I prayed for the first time, on the 1st of April I walked into Church for the first time of my own free will and on 8th April I accepted Jesus into my life, I called out his name and I was saved.

So today I celebrate the 36 weeks without a drop of alcohol, 252 sober days and OK, the fact I’m 39 years old today.

“And anyone who calls upon His name
They will be saved, they will be saved
Anyone who calls upon His name
They will be saved, they will be saved”

(The Saving One by Starfield)

God has given me the strength to make it this far, to a day I was convinced I would never see, I give praise and thanks for that!
