Fun Facts About Me

  • I am only five feet four and half inches tall, with hairy feet, I could be a Hobbit!
  • My dream woman would definitely by Audrey Hepburn, oh yes!
  • I always wanted a blue and yellow Macaw, I was going to teach it the words to Common People by Pulp, so when anyone came round it would say “I wanna live with Common People like you”, I thought that would be hilarious!
  • My right calf is way smaller than my left calf, which looks a bit odd when I’m wearing shorts, this is from shredding my ankle ligaments playing football (soccer) when I was fourteen.
  • I am half English, quarter Welsh and a quarter Polish, through my Grand Parents, which means I could play football (soccer) for all three countries, but my kids can only play for England (which they are probably happy about).
  • I love music, I have over 1000 vinyl singles and 1000 CD singles still cluttering my parent’s house.
  • I love the Marx Brothers, my favourite films of theirs is Horse Feathers, classic, the passwords Swordfish by the way.
  • I once owned a Koi carp called Charlie, he used to feed from my hand and let me tickle him, I bet you all want one now.
  • I love just throwing in random references every now and again, my karate students are often confused by my odd statements, kids these days, I can’t believe they have never heard of Boris Karloff.
  • The trainers I bought back in August have worn out already, they should be guaranteed for at least 1500 miles of walking, shouldn’t they?

Hi, I always wanted a macaw but I am really allergic to feathers and I would love a koi pond but here in Northern Ontario the herons can spot them from miles away and usually fish them out you have to go really deep to save the fish because our blue herons have really long legs, My friend had just put one in her backyard in Uxbridge , The next morning there is Mr Heron standing in the middle of her pond in the middle of a subdivision block. I thought that was quite funny but she did manage to save her newly bought fish. Maybe one day when the livestock are gone I might put one in we’ll have to wait and see.

I want to thank you for following “A Way With Words.” My joy in writing is made more complete when people read what I’ve written (and even more so as they respond).

I write mainly about faith and mental illness, but am known to dabble occasionally in other subjects (like recovery), stories, and even the occasional poem. If you have any requests, please let me know.

I appreciate what you are doing here with your blog, sharing your recovery story. I pray you are blessed as you are a blessing to others.

    Gratefully,

Great fun facts! I can identify with a few of them – being short, for one (I’m five foot two). I love all kinds of music and, regarding heritage, I’m English with a mother who’s partly Welsh and a father who’s partly Irish. I can’t join you on having hairy feet or dreaming about Audrey Hepburn, though.

Yes, it’s nice to meet you, too, Wayne. The nearest fellow-blogger to me so far has been in Norfolk. I know Newark very well. I lived there for eleven years – until 1996 – and still shop there a lot. It’s a very small world!

Thanks for following The Ruminant Scribe. I appreciate the time you spent reading some of the posts and I surely do thank you for liking what you read. I am humbled that you spent time with the blog and I pray it was encouraging and that it, maybe, raised something for you to ponder. I appreciate your blog and am so thankful that you did not end it all. You have a message that will resonate with many, and I am praying that the Lord will use this format to spread His Gospel to others. Blessings to you today. (And, I remember Boris Karlof … not many actors today could pull off what he did all those years ago!)
