My Testimony

In early March 2015, as the three year anniversary of my sobriety approached, I decided to begin writing a definitive testimony.  I have written various blog posts over the previous few years about different parts of my journey and put an abbreviated version in the about me section, but never covered the whole story, so I sat down to write it all down.

I didn’t really know how much I had to write, but after I had covered the first six months or so and already written 25,000 words, I realised this was going to be a bigger task than expected, but so far it’s been fun, yet there is still so much to write.

The Story So Far

Chapter 1 – The Slide

Chapter 2 – A Venture Into The Unknown

Chapter 3 – The Habit Grows

Chapter 4 – The Cracks Become A Canyon

Chapter 5 – The End Of Me

Chapter 6 – The Meeting

Chapter 7 – The Healing Begins

Chapter 8 – Breaking The Chains

Chapter 9 – A New Home

Chapter 10 – Withdrawals

Chapter 11 – The Greatest Day

Chapter 12 – What Just Happened?

Chapter 13 – The Return To The Mat

Chapter 14 – The First Christmas

Chapter 15 – Connecting

Chapter 16 – Numb

Chapter 17 – One Year On

Chapter 18 – Numb Again

Chapter 19 – National Champion

Chapter 20 – Slipping

Chapter 21 – Washed Away

Chapter 22 – Stumbling To The Foot Of A Mountain

I haven’t had a chance to read your testimony yet. But, I am looking forward to it. I’ve made a tentative start on mine, but haven’t got much past the introduction. You are an inspiration to me. Keep up the good work! 🙂

I did the same thing a year ago last August. I just finished a few weeks ago. It has become a book that will be published. It is at the publisher’s to begin editing now. Yours could very well become a book. so take your time and tell it with passion. someone may need to hear what you have to say!! Blessings! Debbie

I just listened to your testimony….you have a gift for engagement….you drew me in so effortlessly and moved me in ways that lets me know that God understands my need to draw closer to Him….I love your quote…”every day’s a battle, every day’s a victory”….every word you spoke was infused with inspiration and hope and love and genuine desire to share the gift of God’s love and redemption….I thank God for you….and, I thank God for protecting you and sparing you, just as He has spared me and countless others. What a wonderful, amazing God….you are a light….thank you for connecting with me. 🙂
