Just A Speck – Proverbs 2:6-9

Just A Speck – Proverbs 2:6-9

This world seems bigger
By each passing day
Am I just shrinking?
Soon to become nothing
Just a speck
Not a meaningful life
I seek His voice
Hear His word
Still I don’t understand
Am I just not hearing?
Or living the word
How do I begin to grow?
Make this world start to shrink
To conquer my demons
Not fall to the none divine
I shake myself
Try to wake up
From a darkening dream
An oncoming nightmare
Where I disappear
For no one to remember
Where legacy is zero
Destroyed by my apathy
How do I make a stand?
Where do I put my mark?
To use the word He giveth
The gifts within my heart
Who I could become
Should be greater than my past
Where castles have been built
Not fortresses destroyed
Set me apart, Lord
From all that I have been
Set my feet
In higher places
Where understanding is so natural
And wisdom is the blood
That pulses through this body
And what I speak
Inspires a soul
And what I write
Sparks a feeling
To the forgotten generations
Within this world
I pray to fill the space
You set for me
The one planned so long ago
To be part of this world
Not swallowed by it’s vice
Let me live
This eternal life
